Our hearts and souls are in Jamaica
Dear Pastor,
You may not remember me, but when I was living in Jamaica and wanted to get married, I came to you and you officiated at my wedding. I can report to you that I am still married. My wife and I, from time to time, mention the exhortation you gave to us at our wedding. I had one son before I got married and he is now in college. My wife had a miscarriage, but we had a beautiful daughter.
I am running my own business; sometimes it does well and sometimes it does not. My wife does not pressure me, because she sees what is coming in and she handles all the bookwork. I listen to you often on radio. You have not changed. If we were living in Jamaica we would attend your church. My wife thinks highly of you.
Our aim is to work hard and then retire in Jamaica. We would love to buy a property over there; primarily in the north coast area. We are here in the United States of America, but our hearts and souls are in Jamaica, the land of our birth. When we tell people that we would return to Jamaica, they think that we are crazy. They talk about violence, but violence is everywhere. So whenever we are ready we will come home.
R.A.
Dear R.A.,
I am glad that your wife and yourself are doing well. Don't allow anybody to discourage you from returning to the land of your birth. Many Jamaicans have gone to the USA, worked hard, and have returned to Jamaica to retire. And if that is what you want to do, set your plans and work towards them.
I wish you well.
Pastor
