Reggae Boyz defender Ethan Pinnock is focused on the national programme after a personal situation forced him to miss Jamaica's recent participation in the Concacaf Gold Cup football tournament in the United States of America (USA).

Pinnock, who withdrew from the Gold Cup because his wife developed complications after childbirth in July, is now ready to concentrate on the Reggae Boyz task, with his wife and child overcoming the tenuous period.

He is expected to play a role today when the Reggae Boyz face Haiti in their second League A Concacaf Nation League Group B match at the National Stadium at 7 p.m.

"Mummy (wife) and baby are all good now, so that is why I'm here," a relaxed-looking Pinnock stated when STAR Sports quizzed.

Pinnock, who made his Reggae Boyz debut in 2021, said that although their transition game left a lot to be desired against Honduras on Friday, he thought they were solid in defence. He thinks his partnership with Damion Lowe can only get better.

"We limited them to a few chances. Their main chances came from us losing it (ball) in the build-ups, but in terms of what they created themselves, we limited them really well," Pinnock said.

"The communication was good, but there are still things to work on, but we have a good platform to build from. It is a process. Things aren't going to change dramatically from game to game.

"There will be progression, and we have to look back at the last game and look at what we did well and what we need to improve, and we have been working on it in training, and, hopefully, it shows in the next game," he said.

In today's match, Pinnock expects the Haitians will make the game difficult for the Reggae Boyz attackers. However, he believes they have the quality and desire to get the job done.

"It was important to get the three points (Honduras) in front of home fans, and we look to move forward. I am confident (of victory). We know they are going to be physical and aggressive.

"Set-plays, they will try and target us on that, but I am confident in the (Jamaican) players. We have a lot of quality in our team, and we are definitely positive and confident of bringing home the win," Pinnock said.

Meanwhile, spectators who need to purchase tickets at the National Stadium for today's game must do so between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. The area will be closed after that, however, online tickets will be available up to match time. The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) urges spectators to get their tickets as early as possible.
