Cops hunt ‘Bow Wow’ and ‘Calla’ over Coronation Market murder

Police are hunting two men wanted in connection with the stabbing death of a Denham Town vendor at the Coronation Market in downtown Kingston.

The men being sought are Dean Grant, otherwise called ‘Calla’, and Tyrese Grant, otherwise called ‘Bow Wow’.

The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Aldean Smith, otherwise called ‘Bigga’, of Bond Street, Denham Town, Kingston.

According to a TVJ report, Smith was attacked sometime after midday and allegedly stabbed several times by a group of men. He reportedly collapsed near a food stall and was later pronounced dead at hospital.

The circumstances surrounding the killing have sparked speculation that the murder could have been retaliatory.

TVJ reported that sources believe Smith's death may have been connected to the killing of a Jamaican in the United States the previous day.

However, police have not publicly confirmed that the two incidents are connected, and investigators have not established a motive for Smith's killing.

Detectives assigned to the Kingston Western Policing Division are appealing to anyone who may have information that could assist the investigation to come forward.

Grant and Grant are being urged to turn themselves in to the police immediately.
