Tired of being used by women
Dear Pastor,
I am 28 and I am living alone. I have been reading your columns in THE STAR for a long time, and I have found them to be good and very enjoyable.
I need your advice because I cannot seem to understand why I keep having this problem. Every woman I meet, including those who have children who I think I can settle down with, as soon as we are together for about four to five months, she leaves me because she has got enough money out of me.
I am a Christian and I love the Lord very much. So I would like you to give me your advice about what to do because I really want to get married and live for the Lord. But as I said, every woman who comes my way used me and left. It has happened over and over, so please for your advice.
D.T.
Dear D.T.,
You say that you are a Christian; therefore, I suggest that you look within your local church or your denomination at large to see if you can find a Christian girl with whom you may establish a relationship. You are looking for a wife, not a gold digger. You seem to have spent lots of money on women. But I have told men for many years that money cannot buy love. I don't mean to imply that a man should not give his girlfriend or fiancee money, but she is not his wife. Therefore, he is not under any obligation at all to give her money.
It does not take a long time for an intelligent young woman to read a man. So she knows whether he is trying to buy her love or he is just a fool. You have tried to get a woman on your own and you have not been successful. Perhaps you should ask the older gentlemen in your church to help you look around and to give you advice on what you should look for in a woman. Older men don't like to see women take advantage of men like you. So they will tell you what type of woman you should look for. Talk to an experienced deacon or elder before you make another move. Don't be in a hurry to find a woman. You will eventually find one if you use common sense. Don't show off with your money and behave as if you have lots of it. Women will make you bawl, so be careful.
Pastor
