TODAY WILL be a very busy day for high school teams participating in the ISSA rural schoolgirl netball competition as second-round action gets under way at Manchester High, G. C. Foster College of Physical Education and Sport, and The Queen's School.

In what will be a first, several teams will be playing two matches on the day as organisers move to make up for time lost during the four-week suspension of the competition caused by Hurricane Melissa.

As usual, it will be the juniors who hit the court first, with defending champions Holmwood Technical set for double duty at G. C. Foster College. Runners-up in their group during the preliminary round behind winners May Day High, the Carline Graham Powell-coached unit will get things rolling at 9:30 a.m. against Mt Alvernia High. They return three hours later to face York Castle at 12:30 p.m.

May Day High will be in action at Manchester High, opening their second-round campaign at 9:30 a.m. against Green Pond High. They return for their second encounter at 1 p.m. versus Black River High. Green Pond will also have a two-match schedule, meeting Ocho Rios High at 1 p.m.

It will also be double duties for Titchfield, St Thomas Technical, Old Harbour, and Iona High at The Queen's School courts in Kingston.

Titchfield's first match is against Old Harbour High at 11 a.m. before taking on Glenmuir at 1 p.m. Old Harbour's second match comes at 1 p.m. versus Iona High after Iona open the day at 9 a.m. against Glenmuir. St Thomas Technical will start at 9 a.m. against Dinthill then face Denbigh High at 11 a.m.

SENIORS

Unlike the juniors, it will be a less hectic day for the seniors, with all five matches to be played at The Queen's School, where only three teams - Iona, St Thomas Technical, and Central High - will have to play twice.

St Thomas will get senior action started at 10 a.m. when they oppose Dinthill Technical, before returning at 12 p.m. to face last year's beaten finalist, Denbigh High.

Iona will meet Central High at 10 a.m., before closing the day against Old Harbour High at 2 p.m.

Also at 2 p.m., Central High will battle Titchfield.
