Portmore United Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) championship captain Ewan 'Butter' Grandison praised his team's preparation as the key factor in their crowning as champions at the National Stadium on Monday night.

The 27-year-old could barely speak after the final at the National Stadium last Monday night.

"Words can't explain. It's being three years, so we finally stamped our class. Losing never came to my mind. We just continued to work and keep pressing on," said Grandison after his team's 4-3 penalty kicks victory against Waterhouse.

"We played an excellent game and stuck to the game plan throughout. We were prepared for anything. Every man played their part in the victory," he said.

Grandison also praised his coach Shavar Thomas, who replaced Linval Dixon last year and won in his first season as a head coach in a senior competition.

"He did a good job and the players reacted to him and all that. At Portmore, it is straight discipline no matter who is the coach, no care if that person is young or old," said Grandison.
