Former national Under-20 goalkeeper, Kemar 'Porridge' Foster, was definitely not soft as his heroics led Portmore United to a 4-3 penalty shoot-out victory over Waterhouse in the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) final.

Foster saved two penalties after the game ended 0-0 during regular and extra-time at the National Stadium last Monday night.

He saved the first kick of the shoot-out taken by Waterhouse's striker, Kemar 'Bush' Beckford and then came back and saved the fourth kick from Carlos Barrett, which sparked wild celebrations.

"They (team) knew that I had something in me for the penalty kicks. I delivered this time because I really wanted to win. My goalkeeper coach worked with me and let me come back," Foster who spent over two years on the sideline because of a broken leg, told STAR Sports.

"Couple years a back I was out for sometime due to a broken leg and came back this season. This one is a really a great feeling after the team lost back-to-back finals in the two previous seasons. The back-to-back finals that we lost made the team stronger and we were determined to make it right this season," he shared.

GREAT FEELING

"We really needed this one and came out as a team and fought hard for this. It is a great feeling. Portmore is a family, we are always a family," he said during celebrations with family members and supporters.

"We go out there and played for each other and we did it. Thanks to the coaches, management and everyone who supported us this season and previous seasons. We really love the supporters as they have been behind us wherever we play," Foster added.

The goalkeeper also had high praises for his coach, Shavar Thomas.

"Shavar is a great coach who motivates us a lot. I cannot speak for the other coaches but everyone has their own style," he concluded.
