Westmoreland father charged with sexually assaulting teen daughter

A Westmoreland father is facing an incest charge after police launched an investigation into allegations that he engaged in sexual acts with his teenage daughter over an extended period.

The man was taken into custody on Tuesday and formally charged Wednesday. His identity is being withheld to protect the identity of the alleged victim.

Police say the allegations came to light after the reported abuse was uncovered and a report was made to investigators.

Following their probe, detectives arrested and charged the man with incest.

He is expected to appear before the court to answer the charge.
