Pastor accused in US$12K truck scam hit with stop order
A St Catherine pastor accused of collecting more than US$12,000 for a truck that was never delivered was slapped with additional court conditions when he appeared before the St Catherine Parish Court on Tuesday.
Sean Green, a 57-year-old minister of religion, is charged with fraudulent conversion and non-delivery of service.
When Green appeared before Acting Senior Parish Court Judge Janelle Nelson-Gayle on May 19, a stop order and fingerprint order were attached to his existing $300,000 station bail.
The judge also questioned why Green had initially been granted station bail after reportedly being elusive to investigators before his arrest.
The investigating officer told the court that the decision was made on humanitarian grounds due to illness.
Green’s bail was extended until June 16, 2026, by which time his attorneys are expected to provide legal arguments as to why the charge of fraudulent conversion should not stand.
Allegations are that between January 4 and January 26, 2026, Green collected US$12,132 from a complainant for the purchase of a 2010 Isuzu motor truck.
The vehicle was reportedly scheduled for delivery, but was never handed over and the money was not returned.
After several failed attempts to contact Green, the complainant reported the matter to the Spanish Town police, triggering an investigation that later led to the pastor’s arrest and charge.
