Residents of Paradise Rowe in St James say they welcome the presence of police and the military as they now feel safer despite the crime gripping sections of the parish.
Earlier today heavily-armed police and soldiers were busy patrolling the community by foot.
"We love see dem. Me get up early this morning and see dem and feel safe," a shopkeeper told STAR Online.
Last week, 15 persons were killed in various sections of St James. And, as of yesterday, the murder count in the parish since the start of the year stood at 199.
