Jailbreak - 9 prisoners still at large

Up to late last night, police were still searching for nine men who escaped from the Denham Town lock-up. Several cops from the Denham Town Police Station, which falls in the West Kingston division, have been interdicted following the incident.

Reports said the prisoners escaped by cutting a ventilation grille inside the lock-up. During a routine cell check about 7:30 a.m., the men were discovered missing.

The escapees are:

ï Theodore 'Theo' Lawrence, 23, from Tivoli Gardens, charged with murder ï Kevin 'Tatan' Thomas, 26, from Tivoli Gardens, charged with wounding and shooting with intent ï Oshane 'Grey Beard' Morgan, 19, from Denham Town, charged with robbery and illegal possession of firearm ï Richard 'Ritchie' Richardson, 22, from Denham Town, charged for shooting with intent ï Alex Bailey, 23, of Majesty Gardens, charged with murder and illegal possession of firearm ï Ian 'Pipe' McBean, 30, from Cling Cling Avenue, charged with murder ï Stephen 'Lucious' Burke, 23, from Spanish Town, charged with malicious destruction of property and assaulting police ï Donovan 'Bitter' Allen, 33, from Spanish Town, charged with robbery with aggravation ï George Ballentine, 19, of Bedwood Gardens, charged with murder and illegal possession of firearm.

The police have advised members of the public that these men are dangerous criminals and harbouring a fugitive is a prosecutable offence.
