‘Her Name Is Love’ - Masicka melts hearts with new EP
Dancehall artiste Masicka steps into a softer, more intimate lane with the announcement of his forthcoming EP, ' Her Name Is Love', due December 19 through Def Jam Recordings.
Following an exclusive reveal with Billboard, the project reframes the artiste's trademark intensity into songs that celebrate women, closeness, and the many faces of love -- without losing the razor-sharp lyricism that made him a force in modern dancehall.
Shot by Yanick 'The Therapist' Reid, the EP's visuals set the tone: warm light, cinematic blur, and romantic silhouettes that capture the electric pull between lovers.
The imagery balances strength with vulnerability, presenting a Caribbean romance that's sensual, confident and quietly layered -- a visual companion to the record's themes of desire, loyalty and emotional truth.
Musically, Masicka leans into a new emotional register. Known for hard-hitting storytelling and commanding flow, he now explores admiration and intimacy with the same craft and conviction. The songs pay tribute not only to romantic sparks, but to the influence and power of women across his life and career.
In a recent interview with Billboard Magazine, Masicka shared: "This project is another dimension of me, still strong, still intense, but more personal.
"The ladies always support my music, and I wanted to create something that speaks directly to them. This EP is about connection, emotion, and the different forms love can take."
Among the EP tracks is fan favourite Keys, a melodic highlight already shaping the conversation around this new creative chapter. With warm production and an intimate tone, Keys echoes the record's focus on trust, closeness and romantic energy.
Her Name Is Love was crafted for Masicka's strong female audience, but its themes resonate broadly with anyone who understands passion, affection, and the beauty of emotional connection.
