Blake gets wild card for World Indoors

Former World Athletics Indoor Championships men's 60m bronze medallist Ackeem Blake has been given a wild card entry to next month's World Indoor Championships.
The 24-year-old Jamaican sprinter copped gold in the event at both the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston on January 24 and the Millrose Games in New York on February 1 to secure 20 points and a wild card entry for the Championships, scheduled to be held in Poland from March 20 to 22.
In addition to Jamaica getting a third spot in the men's 60m at the championships, Blake won US$10,000.
Another Jamaican, Odaine McPherson, was 11th on the list.
Meanwhile, World Indoor finalist Jordan Scott was third in the men's triple jump standings and Navasky Anderson, who broke the Jamaican national indoor record in the men's 800m, finished 16th in his event after competing in two events in Europe last week.
Two-time World champion in the 100m hurdles, Danielle Williams was third in the women's 60m hurdles standings with Megan Simmonds 12th, while Lamara Distin was eighth in the women's high jump.
