Teacher found stabbed to death inside Westmoreland home

A quiet Sunday afternoon turned deadly in Pitkin, Bluefields, Westmoreland, after a primary school teacher was found brutally stabbed to death inside his home.

The deceased has been identified as 39-year-old Andre James, a teacher at Little London Primary School.

Police said they responded to a report of a homicide in the community about 4 p.m. Sunday.

On arrival, investigators reportedly found James slumped in a chair inside a bedroom with multiple stab wounds to his chest.

A pair of scissors, believed to have been used in the deadly attack, was reportedly seized from the scene.

Police said James also appeared to have suffered injuries to his neck and head, adding to the mystery surrounding the circumstances of his death.

The scene was processed by investigators as detectives sought to determine what led to the killing and identify those responsible.

No suspect has yet been named or taken into custody, and a motive has not been established.

The investigation is continuing.
