Four Haitian nationals are set to face the courts after police swooped down on an upscale gated community in St Catherine and allegedly discovered they had overstayed their time in Jamaica.

The two men and two women were arrested during an intelligence-led operation carried out by officers assigned to the Green Acres Police on Sunday, August 2.

Reports are that at about 3 p.m., police raided a premises in the gated community where the four individuals were found.

Investigators say initial checks revealed that all four had overstayed their permitted time in Jamaica and were living in the island illegally.

Police further disclosed that one of the men and one of the women are also wanted in connection with similar immigration-related offences elsewhere.

The four are scheduled to appear before the St Catherine Parish Court on Friday.
