‘I refuse to let you steal my joy’ Reggae Boyz captain Andre Blake car stolen

Reggae Boyz captain and star goalkeeper Andre Blake is the latest Jamaican to fall victim to car thieves, but the football star says the criminals could not take his joy.

"You can steal my car but I refuse to let you steal my joy," Blake said in a short video posted to his Instagram story on Sunday morning.

The three time Major League Soccer Goalkeeper of the Year made the statement while posing with a child, appearing upbeat despite the loss.

The STAR understands that Blake's black Mark X motor car was stolen sometime between Saturday night and Sunday.

Reports suggest the vehicle was taken in the Hunts Bay area.

Blake, who plays for the Philadelphia Union in the United States, is widely regarded as one of Jamaica's top footballers and was the number one pick in the Major League Soccer draft.

Police have since launched an investigation into the theft.

Car theft continues to be a major concern across Jamaica, with several incidents reported in recent months.
