Man allegedly challege cops with knife gunned down in Waterford
The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM), has launched a probe into the fatal shooting of a 25-year-old man in Waterford, Portmore, St Catherine on Wednesday night.
Dead is Shawn Seraton, a labourer of Waterford.
Reports are that about 10:30 p.m. on March 4, police personnel went to the Waterford community. Upon reaching the intersection of Hatfield Road and Paradise Way, the officers reportedly accosted Seraton.
Police allege that the man attacked them with a knife. Lawmen say they took evasive action and opened fire, hitting Seraton during the confrontation.
He was assisted to the Spanish Town Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
INDECOM has since commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.
