Night Carnival to take over Ocean Boulevard

Jamaica’s carnival season may traditionally peak in April, but Fete Republic is creating another opportunity for carnival lovers to return to the road when Night Carnival Jamaica takes over Ocean Boulevard this Saturday.

Under the theme ‘Purple Reign’, the overnight experience will bring Monday wear, carnival costumes, music trucks, soca and dancehall to the Kingston Waterfront from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. The staging gives patrons another occasion to enjoy the freedom and movement of carnival without waiting until the next official season. Instead of being confined to a venue, the celebration will incorporate the Rudeboy Road March, allowing patrons to follow the trucks and experience the music in the streets.

“The response to carnival shows that people want more opportunities to enjoy the road throughout the year. Night Carnival gives them that experience in a different setting and at a different time of year. Patrons can come out in their Monday wear or costumes, move behind the trucks and enjoy the energy of carnival against the backdrop of the Kingston Waterfront,” said Mikhail DeGale, managing director of Fete Republic.

Providing the soundtrack for the seven-hour experience will be Bloodline Franco, Kevi the Kinetic, Cyclone, March In, Carlos A-Team, Fyahman, DJ Lantern MD, DJ Mindless and Zess.

The Kingston staging also begins the next leg of Night Carnival’s 2026 journey. Purple Reign will travel to Miami on October 9, before becoming one of five experiences presented during Republic Weekend in Ocho Rios from October 16 to 19.
