Nuffy excited by Masicka, Tommy Lee Sparta clash

Dancehall personality MC Nuffy says the Tommy Lee Sparta-Masicka clash is the perfect musical showdown to "revive Jamaica [and] reignite Sting".

He opined that Masicka, whose 'greatest of all time' (GOAT) utterances are alleged to have started the clash, has a worthy opponent in Tommy Lee Sparta.

"This is no time for him to run. If yuh seh yuh a GOAT, wi nuh know if it's a she-goat or a rammy. Now is the time fi prove yuhself," Nuffy told THE WEEKEND STAR. He added that Masicka is a GOAT, but "in his own area".

The lyrical onslaught, which saw the artistes dropping diss tracks since Monday has ignited the dancehall atmosphere and Internet. Tommy Lee Sparta first delivered the single Control, which received a fiery response from Masicka, who released Vain. Since then, the war of words has been the talk of the town from both fans and industry players.

Nuffy, who has been an integral part of Sting, the Mecca of historical clashes, said that based on the trajectory and calibre of artistes involved, he foresees a "healthy clash with a mature outcome".

"Tommy Lee and Masicka is like the fourth generation of artistes inna di music where they have that musical stability and that credit. Tommy Lee has a lot of Sting experience ... and Masicka has also been there a few times and one time for a clash," he highlighted. "So these are two mature entertainers who can help move back dancehall where it supposed to go back inna the international arenas, while strengthening the platform where artistes can break naturally and not just be Internet entertainers."

The one-time resident Sting MC then encouraged the artistes to show off their lyrical creativity at the event's staging this year. The show's promoter Tahheer Laing has offered the Sting battleground to the artistes to "rewrite history".

The energetic MC added that once the green light is given and the clash is on, he's open and ready to host.

"Di show cyaah nice without Nuffy: suh mi nuh muss ready fi host it," he said.
