Dancehall vixen D'Angel has indicated her willingness to engage in a lyrical duel if it becomes necessary.

The entertainer made the comment in a media statement issued yesterday, even as she moved to clarify that her recently released song, Start It, has nothing to do with any ongoing disputes in the dancehall space.

"When I released Start It, I wanted to remind the world that I am not one to play with, and that is why I came so hard at Sting 2024 with the 'war angel' moniker," the singer stated.

There has been a flurry of social media comments, with mixed reviews and concerns, about her involvement in feuds. D'Angel stands firm, stating, "This song wasn't directed at anybody in particular. It was just me declaring my place in the industry, but if anybody is ready to clash me, I am ready," she said.

A heavy-hitter on the music scene, D'Angel has been reeling out hits such as Blaze, Talk Bout and more recently, Jealousy and Last Laugh.

Following her successful stint at Sting 2023, D'Angel has been busy in the studios creating music for her fans.

"You can look out for a lot more new music from me this year, as well as more visuals. A lot of excitement is in store for 2024, so look put for it," she said.

D'Angel started the new year with a bang, releasing Jealousy on New Year's Day. The entertainer said she wanted to use the track to spread a message of unity and love within the musical sphere, inspiring other acts to build a positive space and help each other out.

"Women need to unite because it's very hard for us to get in. A lot of us are oftentimes faced with sexual harassment by managers and industry players to even get on riddims. So once we get in, we need to strengthen each other," the artiste said recently.

"My advice to women in the business, since day one, is to stop fighting against each other and put the jealousy aside. At the end of the day, all of us want to be successful; and unity is strength," she added.
