Bet on Legal Fight, Prince Zayden

WE JAMMIN, ridden by Reyan Lewis, wins the 100th running of the Jamaica St Leger over 10 furlongs at Caymanas Park on Sunday.

JUVENTUS ONE, a third-choice pick in last Friday’s ‘Reggae 6 Snaps’, knifed through 3-5 favourite GOLDEN AMBASSADOR five furlongs out to win Sunday’s opener at odds of 6-1, the longest shot in a $12,513 payout.

Opening with a $3.5 million single-winner bonus, this Saturday’s Reggae 6 could be chanced with back-to-back bankers, LEGAL FIGHT and PRINCE ZAYDEN.

Patrick Lynch’s LEGAL FIGHT clocked 1:40.3 at a mile on May 25, easily beating HE’S SENSATIONAL and MY ECLIPSE. Lynch has refitted blinkers and figure-eight, signalling LEGAL FIGHT is primed for seven furlongs after back-to-back sprint races.

PRINCE ZAYDEN, refitted with a figure-8, which he wore when third to GREYT MAGUM and HUMILITY in March, chased ROUND THE TWIST for six and a half furlongs before being relegated by Sunday’s winner, MODERN MONARCH, and DROP OFF, who won’t get that chance again at a shorter trip.

REGGAE 6 SNAPS:

JIMMIE’S TIPS: 8–9–1 – (8) Ignore all three runs since winning at a mile in May. Note blinkers and fig-8 refitted. (9) Last raced as a filler in December. Sharp in 1:08.2 for 5 1/2f. (1) Won with authority off break.

JIMMIE’S TIPS: 1–7–5 – (1) Chased winner Round The Twist before weakening late at 7 1/2f. (7) Tracked Round The Twist and Prince Zayden. Stayed on for 3rd. (5) Third and fourth since cheekpieces fitted.

JIMMIE’S TIPS: 8–11--5 – (8) Caught by rail-running Silent American at 5f rd after overhauling Linstead Market on last. (11) Ignore last two runs. Note fig-8 refitted. (5) Won strong. Up in class but can upset.

JIMMIE’S TIPS: 7--6—4 – (7) Runner-up to out-of-class runners last four races. (6) Explosive closer out straight. (4) Ignore last run from new barn and mid-distance race prior. Has speed to escape field.

JIMMIE’S TIPS: 7–5–16 – (7) Down in class among $350k rivals after being reclaimed for $500k, level at which he won for connections in May and beaten by Dark Matter in June. (5) Has speed. (16) Strong finisher.

JIMMIE’S TIPS: 4–9--3 – (4) Led to almost 1f pole with cheekpieces fitted on last against Gulfstream Cat and Civic Illusion. (9) Outfinished by Abudar out straight. (3) Clocked 1:02.4 for 5f rd at exercise.
