Big guns arrive to bolster Pride

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC:

Barbados Pride head coach, Hendy Springer, is hoping for a reversal in the fortunes of his struggling side with the return of a number of leading players, following the West Indies tour of Australia.

Pride are sitting just above bottom-of- the- table ICC Americas in Zone A of the NAGICO Super50 after the third round of matches which ended on Monday.

They are on four points after suffering two defeats and securing one win from the three matches already contested.

"Luckily, those guys coming in are guys who want to play," declared Springer.

"I am not saying the guys who are here don't want to play, but these are guys who came back from a hard international tour".

They include West Indies captain Jason Holder, opener Kraigg Brathwaite, all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite and pacer Kemar Roach.

"It is good to see they have made themselves available in the first place," said Springer.

Pride lost to Scorpions by two wickets in third round action Monday after suffering a nine-wicket defeat at the hands of Trinidad and Tobago Red Force on Saturday.

Pride play ICC Americas at Queens Park Oval today.
