Former Member of Parliament and wife killer Jolyan Silvera will be serving 20 years and 10 months behind bars for the brutal murder of his wife, Melissa Silvera.
Chief Justice Bryan Sykes handed down the sentence in the Home Circuit Court on Friday.
Silvera received 20 years for manslaughter and 20 years and 10 months for using a firearm to commit an offence.
However, the court ruled that he must serve a minimum of 13 years behind bars before becoming eligible for parole.
The former St Mary Western MP had earlier pleaded guilty to the charges in relation to the death of his wife.
Melissa Silvera was found dead at the couple's home in Stony Hill, St Andrew, on November 10, 2023.

The revelation led to a police investigation which resulted in criminal charges being laid against the former lawmaker.
Silvera later pleaded guilty to manslaughter and using a firearm to commit an offence, bringing the high profile case to a close.
