Update|Father of 3-y-o fatally shot in Denham Town home invasion dies

Grief has tightened its grip on Denham Town, Kingston after the father of a three-year-old boy who was killed in a brazen home invasion on Saturday succumbed to his injuries.

Dead is Kiero Pinnock, who was shot along with his two sons when gunmen stormed their Nelson Street home and opened fire. His three-year-old son, Jace 'Zaza' Pinnock, was pronounced dead at hospital shortly after the attack. Pinnock died on Monday while undergoing treatment.

An eight-year-old boy, who was also shot during the incident, has since been treated and released.

The double murder has left the community reeling, with residents struggling to come to terms with the killing of the toddler.

In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, Jace's mother, Ladonia Cunningham, was inconsolable. Clutching the blood-stained, bullet-riddled underwear her son had been wearing when he was shot, she paced Nelson Street in anguish.

"My baby was just three. A weh unuh want with my babyfather? Jesus! Fada God! Only You. Only You. Look pon mi three-year-old white brief," she cried repeatedly.

The Major Investigation Division has launched a probe into the deadly attack.

Minister of National Security and Peace Dr Horace Chang condemned the killings, describing the attack as senseless and heartbreaking.

"At three years old, this child should have been surrounded by love, laughter and protection, not caught in criminal violence," Chang said, urging anyone with information to assist investigators.

Member of Parliament for Kingston Western Desmond McKenzie also denounced the attack and renewed calls for residents to unite against crime in the area.

Up to press time, no motive had been established for the shooting.
