Woman nabbed on Valentine's Day for selling ganja

Love was in the air on Valentine's Day, but for one young bartender in St Catherine, the sweet scent of roses was replaced by the strong smell of ganja after an early morning police operation led to her arrest.

Twenty two year old Syleena Davy, a bartender of Kings Street in Spanish Town, has been charged with possession of ganja and dealing in ganja following the seizure of several parcels of the drug on Hartland's main road in the parish on Saturday, February 14.

Reports from the Agricultural Protection Branch in Area 5 are that about 2:40 a.m., a team was on mobile patrol in the area when they searched a premises along the roadway.

During the search, lawmen reportedly found fifty three parcels of ganja.

Further investigations allegedly revealed that Davy was selling the drug at the location.

She was subsequently informed of the offences, taken into custody and later charged.

Her court date is now being finalised.
