The police have identified the mother and daughter who were shot and killed in Rocky Point, Clarendon, on Monday night.

They are 60-year-old Norma Spence, a fish vendor, and her 41-year-old daughter, Kerry-Ann Scott, also a fish vendor.

A third person was injured in the attack and remains hospitalised, police say.

According to investigators, the victims were among patrons at a bar in the area shortly before 9:00 p.m. when three gunmen reportedly pounced on them and opened fire. The attackers fled the scene on foot.

After the gunfire subsided, Spence, Scott, and the third victim were found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Spence and Scott were pronounced dead at the hospital, while the third victim was admitted for treatment.

Assistant Commissioner of Police for Area Three, Christopher Phillips, said a major investigation has been launched into the incident. He added that police presence is being increased in the fishing village in south-east Clarendon as investigators continue their work.
