Traveller finds new 'boyfriend' on every trip

A female solo traveller has revealed that she finds "temporary boyfriends" in each new location she visits, getting them to cook for her and show her around.

Orsolya Lorincz, 34, from Romania, says she meets men on dating apps whenever she travels and asks if they are happy to be a "temporary boyfriend."

Sharing her method for reducing costs on trips with her TikTok followers, she said:

"It usually lasts for a week. It depends on how long I stay in their country. But usually I would go on Hinge dates and find, pretty fast, a local guy who is okay with being a temporary boyfriend."

Lorincz added: "[He] shows me around, cooks breakfast for me, buys drinks and food and sometimes I even stay at their place, if we are vibing very well."

She insists she only uses them for "free meals and tour guides," funding her travel and accommodation herself.

"It is just a temporary boyfriend to hang out with and do stuff together. I don't use them for free trips, more like free meals and tour guides. They pay for food, drinks and they are my free tour guides, or sometimes take me on day trips with their car. I just think it is funny and wanted to make people laugh. And maybe normalise women being more free. I stop seeing them once I leave the country."

Crying horse turns viral sensation

A budget-friendly horse toy has become an unexpected internet hit after shoppers noticed its accidentally upsidedown smile -- a design flaw that has now earned it the nickname the "crying horse."

Factory owner Zhang Huoqing revealed that the plush originally sold about 400 units a day when it launched in October. But once social media users began sharing memes of its mournful expression, demand exploded, with orders now surging into the tens of thousands daily.

The toy has become a mascot for young factory workers who jokingly call themselves "niu ma" -- meaning "cattle and horse," a phrase for employees who feel overworked and undervalued.

One customer, posting under the name Tuan Tuan Mami, summed up the appeal in a comment shared by the South China Morning Post:

"This little horse looks so sad and pitiful, just like the way I feel at work. With this crying toy in the Year of the Horse, I hope to leave all my grievances at work behind and keep only happiness."
