14-y-o charged with stealing $100,000 from Greater Portmore home
A teenage boy from Greater Portmore is before the police after CCTV footage allegedly exposed him as part of a group that broke into a house and stole liquor and a phone worth $100,000.
Reports from the Portmore Police are that about 8 in the morning on Monday, November 24, a woman securely locked her house and left for work. The teen and his accomplices allegedly climbed onto the roof, pried open a kitchen window and slipped inside.
The police say the crew helped themselves to an assortment of liquor along with a cell phone before fleeing the scene.
A report was later made and investigators reviewed CCTV footage from the premises. The images reportedly pointed straight to the fourteen year old. On Sunday, November 2, the boy was handed over to the police by his guardian.
He was later charged with housebreaking and larceny after a question and answer session in the presence of his attorney. His court date is being arranged.
