A 19-year-old accused of leading a stone-throwing gang in Majesty Gardens, St Andrew, has been ordered to stay away from his community until his case is resolved. Teddecky Perkins, who police allege is the leader of the gang, was charged with unlawful wounding after reportedly throwing a bottle at a complainant, injuring her arm.

Investigators told Senior Parish Judge Sanchia Burrell that Perkins had threatened to burn down the complainant's house if she reported the incident to the police.

"He is also the alleged leader of the stone-throwing gang. It is the name and the action of the gang because they throw stones at the police," the investigator added, saying that the gang operates in Majesty Gardens, St Andrew.

Despite the serious allegations, Judge Burrell offered Perkins bail with a warning.

"It's better to quit the stone-throwing gang. If it is your gang, try to diffuse it. This [bail offer] is us trying to help you," the judge said.

Burrell imposed a condition of bail, prohibiting Perkins from visiting Majesty Gardens.

Meanwhile, Perkins, who is a high school dropout, denied being part of a gang, explaining that he operates a game shop in his community. He also said he is a windshield wiper, and even ventured to St James to ply the trade.

"They don't need you down there, they already have Stone Crusher [gang] down there. They don't need you. So you just going bounce around so? What about a trade?" the senior jurist quizzed.

Perkins indicated his desire to be trained in auto mechanics through the HEART/NSTA Trust.

The matter was adjourned until January 16, 2025 to facilitate restorative justice intervention..
