Capleton to headline ‘Fire in the Park’ in Ontario

Firebrand artiste Capleton headlines the Soul Food Caribbean Music Festival dubbed ‘Fire in the Park’, slated for September 12 at Esna Park Drive, Markham, in Ontario, Canada

“The fireman himself Capleton is a self-acclaimed prophet chanting down Babylon with lungs of thunder. When he shouts ‘Fire’, the whole city answers,” said Fabian Cole, the promoter of the event.

Capleton is known for songs such Jah Jah City, That Day Will Come, Jah Love, Free Up and It Was Written.

Capleton will be joined on stage by the likes of Malie Donn who is a Jamaican dancehall artiste known for hardcore, unadulterated vocals, catchy hooks, and street relatable lyrics. He blends raunchy lyrics with gritty dancehall energy, gaining traction through viral singles and consistent performances.

D’Yani is a rising Jamaican dancehall singer, known for soulful vocals and lovers’ rock energy which the ladies have come to love and hold close to their heart. He is known for smooth delivery, emotional lyrics, and fresh melodies are quickly earning him recognition in the dancehall scene. Also booked to perform is veteran hitmaker Gyptian. The dancehall/reggae singjay is famous for his smooth, soulful voice and lovers’ rock hits. Best known for his smash hit Hold You, he blends reggae melody with dancehall rhythm, delivering heartfelt lyrics about love, struggle, and resilience worldwide.

Soul Food Caribbean Music Festival: Fire in the Park brings the heat of Jamaica straight to Ontario. This vibrant celebration spotlights authentic Jamaican and dancehall music, with pulsating beats, live performances, and big sound system energy that gets everyone moving. Beyond the music, it’s a full cultural immersion: savour wholesome Jamaican cuisine like jerk chicken, oxtail, curry goat, patties, and festival, served fresh with that island flavour.
