Kazzan Adams recalls his uncle putting him behind the turntable with records when he was about eight years old, and in that moment, he knew that he wanted to follow in his footsteps and become a selector.

A little more than two decades later, Adams is known by his selector name Trigger Finger, and is living out his dream as a selector on Stone Love, and his uncle is incredibly proud. He has been with the legendary sound for 14 months, and he tough-talking 'Dean of Music' at the 'Stone Love University' says that Adams is "ready to graduate with a first degree".

"He's doing well... perhaps even better than some who have been here longer. But we understand that everyone learns at a different pace, and we are here to guide them at this university," Stone Love CEO Winston 'Wee Pow' Powell said.

Adams, who became a certified chef in between honing his skills as a selector and waiting for his big break, shared that he started playing with Stone Love when he was parring with one of the selectors who invited him to play as a guest selector at Weddy Wednesday one night.

"I felt good to know that I would be playing on the biggest sound in the world. It was a joy. That then became every Wednesday night until I was told that I would be signed. That was a great feeling. I come here and learn a lot about different genres, hear music I never heard before from Fada Pow, and mi get to like the dubs them because I come here and experience them. I meet so many artistes, so many Stone Love fans. My uncle told me that he's proud of me and everyone in Maxfield where I'm from feel proud," Adams said.

He was christened Trigger Finger owing to his ability to mix tunes rapidly when playing, a skill that is essential around a turntable. When he's around the turntable he has one goal - to keep patrons entertained and the vibes high.

"From the first night at Weddy dem start to give me props. I can play at any time in the dance ... is like mi know the right time to drop the songs dem. I already travel around the 14 parishes and people start call up my name. So, I'm grateful," Adams said, adding that the camaraderie at Stone Love has made him feel comfortable. He even cooked for the entire crew one day.

"It was the first time I was cooking for so many people ... but dem find out that I am a chef and bring out the big pot dem. But everything work out and everybody enjoyed the meal," he said.

With part one of his mission accomplished, Adams looks forward to touring the world with Stone Love.
