Ijah Maakie salutes the virtuous female

Reggae recording artiste Ijah Maakie is currently promoting his new single, ' You Are A Blessing', inspired by the observation of pure feminine energy and aura.

"This song is about the divine beauty of a virtuous female. It reflects on the days when women were highly respected in music rather than being degraded and verbally insulted by the words of the new wave of 'love songs,'" the artiste explained. Since its release on April 25, it has gained traction on social media, with videos of reactions being posted to the audio.

"My hope for the song is that it reaches the airwaves and screens locally and also in international territories. I hope this song can be recognised for its message and that it brings back nice, morally structured songs for the females," the artiste said.

Doing music professionally since 2011, Ijah Maakie gained recognition with the release of several projects such as his 2017 First Impression EP and the 2020 The Journey EP. His singles include Go Harder, Love Journey and Silent Heart.

"My musical style is simply just different. From prolific writing to a thought-provoking lyrical structure, I aim to stand out with every song that I put in the atmosphere, and always, as much as possible, try to keep it clean," he highlighted.
