IZation is ready to take his place in the spotlight

When reggae/dancehall artiste IZation was a child, he dreamt of becoming a professional footballer, but things turned out differently after his mom's passing in 1997.

"When I was 12 years old, my mom died from womb cancer; this was one of the roughest periods of my life. During that time, I felt as if my whole world was coming to an end, music was my refuge. I would spend a lot of time learning the lyrics of the songs that I listened to, and deejay these songs on a sound system in my community called Hallowpoint," he said. Eventually, he started writing his own lyrics, and one of the first songs was titled Oh Mama.

"Before my mother died, I used to play football a lot because I wanted to become a professional football player, but she never liked that idea. So, I know if she were here physically, she would be happy to see that I chose to be an artiste instead," he said.

The Rastafarian deejay, who hails from St James, is confident that it won't be long before he becomes a household name in Jamaican music.

"I've spent many years sharpening my deejay and writing skills, and I am ready to make my mark in the music industry. With more hard work and dedication, it won't be long before I become a top act in the music industry," said the artiste. IZation is currently promoting his new single titled Paranoid Mood. The song, which was produced by him, was released on his G20 Records in April.

IZation, given name Steve Graham, hails from a small district in Anchovy, St James, called Wilshire. He is a past student of Bogue Hill All-Age School. He launched his recording career with a song titled Sometimes We Have to Wonder on the G20 Records imprint in 2010.
