Ras Fraser Jr’s song featured in ‘Belair’ episode
Reggae artiste Ras Fraser Jr is all smiles as his career continues to bloom.
The Atlanta-based singjay, who is the son of veteran reggae singer Philip Fraser, is featured on the official soundtrack for season three of the popular Belair TV show on Peacock. Ras Fraser Jr's song, Bounce and Galang, is featured in episode seven.
"As you can imagine, I was elated when my manager, Zac, informed me that my song has been chosen. This is another milestone in my career. I feel honoured to be on the soundtrack of a popular TV show alongside legends like Sister Nancy, Snoop Dog, DJ Khaled, India Arie and Fat Joe. Big up to all the other artistes on this soundtrack and to the producers of Belair season three," said the artiste. The season began airing on Peacock on August 15.
This is the second time Bounce and Galang is featured on a TV show soundtrack. The song, which was recorded on producer Cally B's 'Portmore Vybz' rhythm for Small Axe Entertainment, was selected for the soundtrack of the Netflix series Survival of the Thickest last year. In 2009, Ras Fraser Jr's song, Fire Man, was featured in an episode of Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.
"Many artistes do not understand that there are numerous ways to earn from their music. You don't have to be on stage all the time or recording dubplates to make money. I am happy that I am working with a dynamic team that knows how to manage my career and my intellectual properties effectively, so that I can earn from my music in various ways," he said.
Ras Fraser Jr is gearing up to release his third studio album, I Am Conscious. The 11-track project is produced by Bigmills Productions, Wideawakemusic and Rebel Sound Records.
