Bibidon speaks his ‘Truth’

St Mary has produced some of the biggest names in dancehall, such as Josey Wales, Nicodemus, Ninja Man, Lady Saw and Capleton.

Bibidon is aware of that rich history and wants to maintain its legacy. The 19-year-old deejay is from Highgate, a town that was once the parish's commercial hub. Last year, he made his recording debut with the single Truth. Recently, he followed up with Gratitude; both singles are produced by Syn City Entertainment.

"It's basically about fake friends, people who are not real. At di same time, we thank God for all di good Him do," said Bibidon, about Truth.

The single was part of the Florida-based Syn City Entertainment's Nation compilation album which came out last summer. It was released shortly after Bibidon graduated from high school.

He recorded Truth for Syn City Entertainment's boss, Alton Smith, after two years of working the studio circuit. Success, Bibidon believes, comes easier if the right people are around you.

"What wi looking for is great things, an' if yuh want great things yuh have to separate yuhself from bad people," he said.
