Boyfriend does not like using the condom

Dear Pastor,

Greetings to you in the name of Jesus. I am a regular reader of your column. I am 22 years old.

I have a boyfriend and we started having sex a couple of months ago. He does not like using the condom, but I told him no condom, no sex. All he does is fuss whenever it is time for us to make love. I did not want us to get into this sex thing if we were not married, but he said that his father told him that he should never get married to a woman unless he goes to her, because he should make sure that the woman has a 'clear passage'. So because I love this man so much, we started having sex.

He has had sex many times because I am his third girlfriend. He is my second boyfriend. I told him that we should compromise. I will buy the female condom if he would give me the money to do so. Do you think the female condom is as reliable as the male one? I would like to hear from you on this matter.

Dear J.L.,

I know the male condom is much cheaper than the female condom. If this man and you are already having sex and you are planning to get married, I would suggest that you discuss this matter with your doctor and have him or her spend time in advising you what to do. I hope this man will not use you and leave you. Make sure he does not get you pregnant before you are married.
