Man regrets penis enlargement surgery

Three years after undergoing a penis enlargement procedure, a Jamaican man is now haunted by fears that the decision he made to boost his sex life could have put his life at risk.

Romaine*, 30, said he has been counting his lucky stars since learning of the death of Nigerian influencer Igho ‘Tiny’ Ubiribo, who perished recently following a penis filler procedure. Ubiribo, a Nigerian influencer living in London, England, died on March 6 at age 43 after receiving penis filler injections.

For Romaine, news of Ubiribo’s death has brought a frightening new dimension to his own decision.

“Mi nah lie, it frighten me. The first thing mi think is, ‘What if something like that happen to me?’ Because I already did mine and I already have problems since doing it. So, when you see somebody actually lose them life from something similar, you start wonder if you make a terrible mistake,” he said.

Despite the passage of time, Romaine said the thoughts about possible complications now enter his mind.

“I wouldn’t say I’m walking around thinking I’m going to drop dead tomorrow. But it crosses your mind now,” he said.

“Before I saw that story, death wasn’t something I associated with this at all. Now it is.”

Romaine and his brother Daniel* travelled to Turkey three years ago for penis enlargement procedures after years of insecurity over what they believed were naturally small penises, a problem they once described as a “family curse”.

Romaine said his insecurity was so severe that he avoided sex until age 22 and even experimented with home remedies, including beating his tiny member on the trunks of breadfruit and papaya trees.

But having undergone enlargement procedure, which saw his penis doubled in length to six inches, Romaine now has another problem in his pants. He is now battling erectile dysfunction.

“Sometimes I’m in the mood and everything is there mentally, but my body just not cooperating,” he said. “Sometimes I can get an erection, but keeping it is the problem. You can imagine how embarrassing that is when you’re there with your woman.”

He said his entire reason for undergoing the procedure was to improve intimacy with his partner and make sure he could satisfy her.

“I never have this problem before the enlargement. That’s why I associate it with what I did. Before this, my issue was never getting hard. My problem was that I didn’t think I was big enough. Now I get the size I wanted and sometimes can’t even use it. That’s what hurts,” he said.
