Police probe fatal motorcycle crash in St Catherine

Tragedy struck St Catherine on Sunday afternoon when a man died after a violent collision between a motorcycle and an SUV along St John's Road.

The deceased has been identified as Delroy Pottinger.

Reports indicate that around 4:30 p.m. on February 8, Pottinger was riding as a pillion passenger on a motorcycle driven by a 29-year-old man.

Investigators say that as they reached a corridor along St John's Road, the motorcycle collided with a Honda CRV SUV. The impact left Pottinger with severe injuries and caused extensive damage to both vehicles.

Pottinger, along with other injured parties, was rushed to the Spanish Town General Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Police say the driver of the motorcycle and the driver of the SUV have been warned for prosecution. The Spanish Town Traffic Department is continuing its investigation into the crash.rash.
