Two Westmoreland men have been slapped with various charges following an incident on the Broughton main road, Little London in the parish on June 25.

They have been identified as 23-year-old Roan Brown and 24-year-old Trae Wedderburn, both of Barracks Road, Savanna-la-Mar. They have been charged with four counts of robbery with aggravation, receiving stolen property and using a firearm to commit a felony. Reports from the Little London police are that at 2:15 a.m., persons were at a business establishment when Brown, Wedderburn and another man approached and engaged them in a conversation. After the conversation ended, it is alleged that Brown and Wedderburn later pulled guns from their waistbands and demanded properties from the persons. The complainants gave the men three Samsung smartphones, one iPhone 14 Pro Max, one LG smartphone, and one HP laptop amounting to $433,000.

A report was made to the police, an investigation was launched into the matter and Brown and Wedderburn were arrested. They were then placed in an identification parade where they were positively identified and charged. Their court date is being finalised.
