Two arrested for imitation firearm

The Clarendon police charged two persons with possession of a prohibited weapon following the seizure of an imitation firearm in Effortville, May Pen, on Saturday.

They have been identified as 54-year-old Carlton Howe, a taxi operator, and 47-year-old Julian Ramlal, a labourer, both of Donald Avenue, Effortville. Reports from the May Pen police are that at 5 a.m., a police team was on an operation in the Effortville area when a white Toyota Probox with Howe and Ramlal was signalled to stop. A search was conducted of the vehicle and a plastic, imitation firearm was found under the front passenger seat. They were arrested and taken into custody where they were charged. Their court date is being finalised.
