Samora and Yeza hit with ‘Mind No More’
International recording artiste Samora has a lifelong affinity with reggae and dancehall music.
"I love all kinds of music, but reggae and dancehall have always been two of my favourites. From when I was a child, I've felt this deep connection with both genres, which is why I record a lot of reggae and dancehall fusion songs," said the Switzerland-based reggae and pop performer.
Samora recently teamed up with fast-rising Jamaican dancehall artiste Yeza to record a new single titled Mind No More.
"Yeza and I recorded this song to encourage people to let go of their worries and celebrate life. We all know that the world is full of trouble and drama, but we can't let that drag us down and stop us from living and enjoying ourselves," said Samora. Produced by Ludovic Hoarau and Res Staudenmann, Mind No More was released on April 4.
Since then, the song has hit the number one position on the Swiss iTunes Reggae Charts.
"I'm so excited about everything that's happening right now, I still can't believe that Mind No More reached all the way to number one in Switzerland so quickly. We've been doing a lot of promotion, so it's getting great support from the DJs. However, I was shocked when I found out that it was number one on the charts," she said.
The song, which is best described as a rousing mix of reggae, dancehall, and modern pop, also registered on the US iTunes Reggae Charts, where it peaked at 19.
"The US is one of the most significant music markets in the world, so as you can imagine, I'm very happy that Mind No More has made a strong impact there as well," said Samora.
