Uplift excited about Nigeria tour

Canada-based dancehall artiste Uplift is looking forward to his upcoming tour of Nigeria.

"Since I began my music career, I've travelled to a lot of different places all over the world including Mexico, Belize, Australia and the US, but I have never been to Africa before. So, I am very excited about this tour. I can't wait to place my feet on the African soil. This tour means a lot to me because Africa is where my ancestors are from," said the artiste.

The Jamaica-born deejay is scheduled to perform at events in two of Nigeria's major cities, Lagos and Ibadan between May 26 and June 15.

"I'm going to Nigeria to promote my new single titled Fantasy which was recorded with Nigerian Afrobeats artiste Pupa Tee. He and I are booked to perform at several events in Ibadan and Lagos. I'm looking forward to performing and introducing my music to the people in these cities. This is a great opportunity for me to expand my fan base," he said. Uplift revealed that he plans to shoot the video for Fantasy during the tour.

"From the moment we recorded this song I knew I wanted to shoot the video in Africa. I am really looking forward to this video shoot, all the necessary arrangements have been made and everything is in place," he said. Also on the cards for him is a tour of the UK which is slated to take place later this year.

Uplift, given name Steve Austin, hails from St Elizabeth, and currently resides in British Columbia, Canada. Some of his other songs are London Girl, Ride With Me and Real Friend.
