Lazah Current examines the rise of AI on new single

Canada-based, Jamaica-born reggae artiste Lazah Current is in an upbeat mood as he promotes his new single titled AI.

The song, which was co-produced by LR Productions and Lazah Records, was released on February 7. Since then, it has been generating attention across several territories, including the Caribbean, North America, Europe and Africa.

"We have been promoting this song aggressively, and it is getting a lot of support from DJs in various parts of the world. I've also received lots of positive comments about it from fans online. I'm not surprised about the response this song is getting, because AI (artificial intelligence) is a hot-button topic right now," remarked the Power To The People singer.

Lazah Current said that he was inspired to record the song after listening to several discussions about AI in the media.

"I have been paying attention to conversations in the media about the benefits of AI. I've also learnt a lot about the advancement and depth of AI by watching videos about the launch of Space X's Falcon 9 rockets into outer space. Everything I've observed about AI has made me aware that something exciting is taking place in the world of science," he said.

"However, there's an upside and a downside to AI because it's capable of doing almost everything humans can do. I also see a lot of people losing their jobs in the future because they will be replaced by AI and robots," he added.

Lazah Current was recently in Jamaica promoting the single. During his visit to the island, he did several performances at popular weekly events in the Corporate Area, including Rub A Dub Thursdays.
