SassyDiva determined to reach the top

Ascending to the upper echelons of dancehall music is no easy task, but SassyDiva is confident that very soon she will be an international star in the genre.

"I'm bringing a fresh, new energy to the dancehall music scene. My style is different. It's a fusion of '90s and 'chop-dancehall'. I'm coming with a new sound that's going to take over the business, and I plan to go all the way to the top," she said.

The Canada-based deejay is in a no-nonsense mood as she promotes her new single, Rich Bi$h Energy. Produced by SassyDiva, and mixed and mastered by Neqzrecords, Rich Bi$h Energy was released on the Sassy Music imprint on January 25.

"I have a CEO mindset and I'm all about my business. This song is an expression of that ideology, as it explores the ways in which I perceive things. I believe that women should understand their worth and act accordingly. If you have strong confidence and self-esteem, you will not settle for anything or anyone that does not meet your standards," said SassyDiva.

The hard-working entertainer recently visited the island to shoot the video for the song.

"I like to collaborate with directors to produce creative visuals that capture the true essence of my songs. On this project, I worked with one of the best video directors from Canada, Jerome Smith, aka 'Director Jay'. We filmed the video in various parts of Jamaica, including Kingston," she said.
