On his latest single Champion, dancehall artiste Topmann tells a tale that will resonate with countless persons who have grown up in Jamaica under impoverished circumstances.

The deejay says the song was inspired by personal experiences and things he saw while growing up in Montego Bay, St James.

"It's a dog eat dog world out there. You have to be tenacious and smart to make it. Ambition is important too but when you live in the ghetto, you could have all the ambition in the world and still don't make it. It takes strength and determination to survive and beat the odds and make it."

He added, "The great Muhammad Ali once said, 'If my mind can conceive it, and my heart can believe it, then I can achieve it'. That means it's always possible to attain your dreams if you're focused and that's why I wrote this song, to let youth in the ghettos know that despite their circumstances they can still win in life."

The hard-working entertainer also expressed his desire to take his career to higher levels.

"I am grateful for what I've achieved so far. I intend to build on this foundation and take my career to the highest levels in the music business. I'm going to be a global music star," he said.

Topmann is currently busy in the studios working on new projects for several producers and labels.
