Patrons in the general section chanted "we nah hear" and booed as host Miss Kitty attempted to call Burna Boy Live to a start minutes after eight.

The show was expected to begin at 7 p.m., but only music by DJ Mac filled the venue before Miss Kitty's appearance.

Donning an African print dress and orange turban, Kitty's voice failed to reach the general section. After a few minutes, the technical difficulty was fixed, eliciting cheers from the audience. On that note, the show began.

Earlier in the night, patrons shared that they were happy with the new format of the venue which has been the subject of much discussion.

"They did a good job because VIP is central where they wanted, but [the] general has all the seats, so they could have done better with that," said Rayon Burns, who was located in VIP.

Shayanne Hylton, who was seated in general, shared that in terms of visibility, the section was a prime spot.

"In the general section, the vibe is nice, and we can see. I mean, for the price of the ticket, you get the monies worth so far," she said.

Hundreds of patrons are present at the National Stadium in anticipation of an electrifying night. Burna Boy is expected to perform alongside Lila Ike and Popcaan.

Born Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, Burna Boy is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and record producer. He rose to stardom in 2012 after releasing Like to Party, the lead single from his debut studio album, L.I.F.E (2013).
