Man charged with 2023 murder of farmer 'Messi'

Oneil Morris, otherwise called 'Fisherman' has been charged with the 2023 shooting death of Lionel 'Messi' Blake on Baptist Lane, Bridge Water in Westmoreland.

Morris, farmer of Berkshire district, Dundee is facing a murder charge.

Savanna-la-Mar police report that about 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, June 29, Blake, a farmer of Gardener Lane, Bridge Water, was driving his motor vehicle along the main road.

Morris, in another vehicle, drove up.

Morris then reportedly pulled a firearm and opened fire, hitting Blake multiple times to the upper body before escaping on the same motorcycle.

The police were alerted, and on their arrival, Blake was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Following an investigation into the murder, Morris was taken into custody on Wednesday, August 13, during an operation.

He was charged on Saturday, August 16, after a question-and-answer session was conducted in the presence of his attorney.

His court date is being finalised, and the other man is currently being sought by the police.
