A man was arrested over the seizure in Hanover.

The man who was shot and injured in an alleged armed confrontation with the police in Commodore District, Linstead, St Catherine yesterday has died.

He has been identified as Tyson Walker, a 24-year-old of Commodore District, St Catherine.

Reports are that about 5:30 a.m., acting on information, police from the Linstead Street Unit proceeded to the Commodore community.

When the police arrived at the targeted premises they were approach from the rear.

Lawmen reported that Walker had a firearm in his hand.

When they approached he allegedly pointed the gun at them.

The cops took evasive action firing and injuring Walker.

He was assisted to the Linstead Hospital where he was admitted, he subsequently died from his injuries.

The Independent Commission of Investigations is probing the matter.
