Chyna Nicole pays tribute to mothers

New York-based reggae singer Chyna Nicole pays tribute to mothers with the release of her latest single, Gratitude for Mama.

The song, which was produced by Gary O. Sutherland, was released on March 31. Legendary saxophonist Dean Fraser and musician Noel Alphonso are featured on the track.

Chyna Nicole, whose parents are Jamaican, explained the inspiration behind the song.

"I thought to myself, in my catalogue of over 80 songs, not one of them is dedicated to my mom -- my inspiration and the woman who loves me unconditionally. I thought that it was time. It's a love song for mothers around the world, and I hope that my fans will enjoy this special treat," said Chyna Nicole.

Gratitude for Mama is featured on the 'Love You So Much' rhythm from Sutherland.

"Gary is proud of this song and the overall project as he, too, is very close to his own mother," Chyna Nicole shared, adding that she is "very close" to her mother.

"We have our ups and downs like any mother and daughter relationship. But she is positive and always there for me. I recall how hard she worked to pay my college tuition at Howard University, doing overtime as a nurse. She has helped me through rough financial situations. She is a wonderful grandmother to my son, and she truly treats people well."

Chyna Nicole continued, "This song is also for everyone who loves their mama, and all mothers who have been mothers to people they weren't biologically connected to. This is a mother's anthem! I'm so grateful to my mom."
