International designer and singer Sophia Dias is celebrating the official release of her debut album, Bullet Proof, which she dropped last month.

"This album is based on real-life events. It's not sugar-coated; it's a raw, edgy labour of love," the singer said. She has high hopes that listeners will grasp the messages behind the songs.

" Bullet Proof does not define me as a person; it's simply an excerpt of my life. I want listeners to hear the messages and recognise the bravery it took for me to share this part of my life with the world," she said.

Following the release of her debut single, Psalms 23, in September 2021, the US-based singer came to Jamaica last year to get started on the album. The project is backed by leading Jamaican musicians at Tuff Gong Studio.

"I could not have completed this project on my own, and I'm grateful for everyone who was involved in the process. I'm very proud of the finished product," the singer stated.

Dias wears several hats as an accomplished innovator, designer and chef. Rising above the difficulties that come with domestic abuse, homelessness and other struggles, she is taking the reins on her life and steering herself into a place of positivity and inspiration for others.

The album is part of a trilogy, which also features an autobiography titled Blindee Preuve, which is ' Bullet Proof' in French. Released last July, the book is an account of real-life trials and horrific experiences which she was able to overcome through resilience. There will also be a film with the same title.

"The film is currently in the making. It will be filmed in the US, Japan, Europe, London and Jamaica. It's written by one of Hollywood's top scriptwriters, founder and CEO of Macro Vision Films Ranelle Golden," the singer revealed. The movie is expected to be completed this year.
